Activities

Learn & Play events, Previews, and Seminars are scheduled throughout the weekend. An event schedule is included here and will be updated online and at the convention.Learn & Play may be new to some attendees and is different from Demonstrations. With Learn & Play, the host will be teaching the game at the scheduled time and the intent is for players to play several turns or an entire game. With the larger/monster games, the games may be continuous but will stop at the indicated times for an additional Learn & Play session.Previews are of future releases and may be an overview of the game and a preview of components or may be a Learn & Play opportunity.Seminars are presentations by writers and designers about recent articles and games followed by Q&A time. These will be held in a separate room. Most of the convention space is for open gaming. Several attendees have indicated games they are bringing to play and there is a partial list of those games included below. We welcome attendees to designate one game they have brought with them and a particular time they would like to begin play and we will add them to this list and facilitate table space. We will meet in the middle of the open gaming area at 9am daily to announce any additions for the day. Please be aware table space is for active games and specific events (e.g., previews) only. Please do not leave a game or personal items unattended on gaming tables.

Code of Conduct

Food and Drinks. Please be considerate and do not eat or drink on a table with an active game. No alcoholic drinks are allowed at FoxCon.

  • 1. Please always wear your badge in the convention area. Your badge is your only proof to us that you have paid your admission fee and is therefore required to participate in any convention activities. It should be worn above the waist, in front, so it’s visible to our convention staff. If you lose your badge, a new one will cost $20!

  • 2. Please bring a copy of any games you want to play. Desert Fox Games will have many games from several manufacturers and Dallas Games Marathon has many wargames, but the only way to insure you have a game you want to play is to bring it.

  • 3. If you register and pay for admission for less than four days, you gain admission from the time you register until the convention closes for the last day of your admission.

  • 4. Anyone caught participating in a non-convention-organized activity may be removed from the convention without a refund of admission.

  • 5. No drinking is allowed in FoxCon. No smoking is allowed anywhere in FoxCon. No weapons, real or facsimile, are allowed in FoxCon. Violation may result in expulsion without a refund.

  • 6. Do not use the fire exits unless there is an emergency.

  • 7. We are not responsible for your children.

  • 8. FoxCon is not responsible for the safe keeping of your belongings.

  • 9. All attendees are to be treated equally, with respect, by everyone involved in any way with FoxCon. If you feel that anyone is willfully inhibiting your ability to enjoy FoxCon events, please contact any FoxCon host and report the incident.

  • 10. All attendees are expected to meet new gaming friends, play (& learn!) many games, and have a great weekend.
